MPG – ‘Another North’

‘The images presented themselves in front of me like a mosaic of desire, all pictures of him as I knew him, blond, and boyish. Hundreds of pictures, so many ‘O’s in Gooooogle. I poured over them like someone might if they were trying to determine a piece of art to be a fake, meticulously taking in each detail, analysing the shape of his face, the look in his eyes, the feeling it gave off, and, if it was a picture I decided I liked, I right-clicked and saved it in a folder called ‘MPG’.

I accumulated over eighty pictures.’

Jon Paul Roberts’ latest essay ‘MPG’ is available to read on Another North
